Hola! My name is Selma and I am a proud bilingual Latina mental health therapist and owner of A Place For Grace PLLC. I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complex, often painful paths of anxiety, depression, trauma, first generation and relationship challenges. With a warm, compassionate presence and a trauma-informed lens, I specialize in working with survivors of sexual abuse, those experiencing perinatal mental health concerns, and individuals struggling to reconnect with themselves and others.
As a first generation Latina, and eldest of my sisters, I experienced the pressure to "have it together" and having to "know it all". Failure was not an option in my home. Growing up, being Mexican American meant falling into a grey area in which I was neither fully Mexican or fully American. For a long time, I lived to meet other's expectations which led to a non ending list of challenges that I endured throughout my upbringing. As a therapist, I see you fellow Latina/Latino.

I am a wife and mother, currently navigating the post partum journey. Ever experience the crying spells, mom guilt, sleep deprivation and/or feeling so alone while surrounded by people? Bring your cafecito, pull out a blanket, get comfy and let's ride this wave together.

I created A Place For Grace PLLC as a safe, inclusive practice where clients could explore their stories at their own pace-guided by empathy, curiosity, and grace.

At A Place For Grace PLLC, I understand the importance of accessible mental health care. I offer self-pay options for individuals seeking counseling services. My goal is to provide quality therapy that is affordable and convenient for those who may not have insurance coverage or prefer to pay out of pocket. Your well-being is my priority, and I will strive to make my services accessible to all.

A Place For Grace PLLC will be taking online clients over the age of 18. If you are seeking services for a minor under this age, or are in need of a service that I cannot provide, I would be more than happy to provide you with a referral.
